    A corneal abrasion and an ulcer differ in the depth to which they have penetrated the eye. Either can be infected or not. A theory exists that clean abrasions can be exacerbated into infected ulcers via pressure patching an abraded eye.

  3. A corneal ulcer have infiltration but a usual abrasion don’t have An abrasion can change to an ulcer when is infected by microorganism.

      who told this ?
      you have an ulcer when the Bowman membrane is disrupted. putting in contact the tears to the stroma.
      with all the risks of activating MMPs.
      if the Bowman membrane is intact you have an epithelial defect.
