What and where is the trochlea?
The trochlea is a fibrous pulley at the superior medial wall of the eye socket (kind of near the bridge of the nose). This pulley allows the superior oblique muscle to change its force of direction and work as an intorter.
That’s why the nerve that innervates the superior oblique muscle is called the Trochlear nerve (4rth Cranial Nerve)
