transitional lenses

These are lenses in glasses that darken when exposed to sunlight.  While very effective, they can sometimes take a little while to clear again after you walk inside. Also, transitionals require UV light to change color. Since car windows block UV light (explaining why you don’t get sunburned in the car) transitional glasses don’t work as well for driving.
