  1. A patient states allergy to lidocaine that caused a circle of cysts around each injection site where a mole was removed. During cataract surgery, a lidocaine injection is done inside the eye, lidocaine drops outside the eye. Is this the cause of cystotic macula edema? It seems that the allergy to lidocaine dooms this patient to cystotic macula edema after cataract surgery, with treatments of long-term eye injections.
Can lidocaine inside the eye be avoided?
