This photograph of the eye shows pseudoexfoliation on the lens. You can see here a circular ring of whitish material on the lens. As the iris dilates and constricts, the back surface of the iris rubs on the basement-membrane like material and sheds pigment into the aqueous that can clog the trabecular meshwork and cause glaucoma.
