This photo shows pseudoexfoliation of the lens. Here you can see a ring of white granular material on top of the lens. This stuff is made of a basement membrane-like material that coats the lens, zonules, and other areas throughout the body.This is important to discover as PXF complicates cataract surgery secondary to zonular instability.

Here you can see a white material along the pupil margin at the arrow. The iris rubs over this rough surface and pigment can be knocked off the back surface and clog up the trabecular meshwork and cause glaucoma.
