How is this differentiated from a phlyctenule at the corneal margin?
In my experience, a phlyctenule is located at the margin, and has associated blood vessels running into it. These Salzman nodules sit isolated on the cornea surface without blood vessels.
Plus, phylectenules seem to melt away with steroids and blepharitis treatment, while Salzman’s do not.
i am scheduled to have removal of nodules on the cornea. I have been dealing with drops for about 5 years now and lately the nodules are growing so it was decided to remove them. Anything I need to know further about this procedure?
