RA - orphan posts | Video Corneal Thinning – Dellen Stain (Photo) Timothy Root, MD This photo shows a fluorescein stain of the cornea in a patient with dellen thinning at the limbus. These dellen occur from excessive drying, and often occur next to swollen conjunctiva after surgery. While impressive thinning can occur, and even perforation, generally these lesions do well with aggressive lubrication. They also don’t usually stain with fluorescein, like in this photo, though it’s not always easy to determine this as the thinning tends to pool the stain.
