Hypermature Morgagnian Cataract

This video shows a hypermature morgagnian cataract. As you can see, the cortex has liquefied and turned milky, while the central nucleus has turned brown and sunken to the bottom of the capsular bag.

Morgagnian cataract
A classic hypermature cataract. The cortical layer has liquefied to the point that the super-dense nucleus has fallen to the bottom of the capsular bag.
Mature cataract
This photo shows a hypermature Morganian cataract. The lens comes in three layers (like a peanut MM). The outer capsule, middle cortex, and a central nut.
