A patient with temporal arteritis (giant cell arteritis) might complain of the classic symptoms of GCA. These include:

  • headaches
  • scalp tenderness (their scalp may hurt when brushing hair)
  • malaise and weight loss
  • jaw claudication (pain with chewing)
  • polymyagias (muscle pains)
