Keratoconus Treatment with Intacs and Riboflavin Crosslinking (Video)
About this Video
This is a brief news segment on the treatment of keratoconus using corneal implants and riboflavin collagen crosslinking. I believe C3R is simply riboflavin with a few other chemicals added (patentable?). I’ve been using simple riboflavin like in the original studies.

Sound is out of sync with video. Video is blurred. Content is good but could provide more explanation such as benefits, trade-offs of doing PRK prior to cross-linking rather than afterward. Some studies have supported that corneal thickness is increased via cross-linking thus providing a more significant ablation potential. However, perhaps this cannot be combined into one procedure due to time. But no linkage to this line of thinking is shown.
Intacs treated with caution in this country (UK). Apparently many problems with protrusion etc. Only one or two Surgeons in whole country have even contimplated using them and they are treated with much suspicion by the medical community.
