AzaSite
This is an antibiotic drop containing azithromycin. You may know azithromycin in its pill form, where it is marketed as the “Z-pack” and is good for treating lung infections and pneumonia. AzaSite has been packaged as an eye drop and is sometimes used in treating blepharitis (chronic eyelid inflammation). The drop may have some anti-inflammatory properties, and it may help the eyelid meibomian glands flow better and improve eye comfort.
AzaSite is a pretty good antibiotic. It has a very thick consistancy, however, which tends to make people run through it very quickly. I’ve given samples out and had patients report back that they used the entire sample bottle with the first application.
